Every year the Kirkwood Public Library receives funding through many different grants to enhance library programs and services. The items below were awarded as part of a 2026 Technology Ladder Grant which began in May 2026 and runs through April 2027.
For many years, the library has offered ipad kits for preschool age children geared toward early literacy. These devices have been very popular. As with many things in the library geared toward children of a certain age, those children eventually age out of said things. So with this grant we have expanded into the realm of elementary age children. The concept of these Elementary iPads is the same their younger equivalents - a curated catalog of educational apps and no internet access. The difference, the apps curated as more geared toward their age range. We hope you'll find this a welcome addition to our collection and your child's educational aspirations!
