Every year the Kirkwood Public Library receives funding through many different grants to enhance library programs and services. The items below were awarded as part of a 2026 Technology Ladder Grant which began in May 2026 and runs through April 2027.

Ever since the 2017 renovation of our Children's Room, technology has been a huge part of this space. As part of that, we've offered various large, interactive devices that allow multiple children to play together at a single time. We started with a SMART Table and migrated to a Clevertouch interactive screen after that. We've just replaced our old Clevertouch screen with a new, large model.

This interactive touch screen is designed for preschool age children and features a number of educational apps. We hope this selection will help to stimulate your minds.

This device is also paired with a large parabolic speaker hanging above it. The parabolic design allows for directional focusing of sound, which means the little ones playing can hear the sound clearly, without the sounds disturbing other patrons.

This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the LSTA as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
