Written by Pete Broeder and performed by the River Bound Band, this song was performed live for the Kick-Off event of Summer Reading on May 16th, 2015.

Verse 1:

I checked out a book
Right away I got hooked
An adventure on the open sea
A harpoon would stick in the side of Moby Dick
At the Kirkwood Library

Chorus:

Oh, they call it the Kirkwood Library
And you can take it from me
It’s a great place to know your brain will learn and grow
At the Kirkwood Library

Verse 2:

I read about Eeyore
Tigger, Rabbit, Owl and more
There was a honey jar and lot of bees
It had Kanga & Rue and Winnie the Pooh
At the Kirkwood Library

— Chorus —

Verse 3:

Monster stories are my thing
Frankenstein and Stephen King
I read them anxiously
I must declare, they really make me scared
I get ’em from the Kirkwood Library

— Chorus —

Verse 4:

I like green eggs and ham
My name is Sam I am
I even like them in a tree
There’s a fox on the loose, someone call Dr. Seuss
At the Kirkwood Library

— Chorus —
